I've been doing some practise modelling on characters, because i'm thinking of making a character model for the 3d assignment and it would be good to get back into using Maya again.

This practise model is based on the character 'Sesshoumaru' (he's male!!) from the anime 'Inuyasha'. I thought it would be fun to model! Plus i might even model his demon dog form if i have spare time.

Reference images I used to help model. Here it shows that he has two arms, but im going to model him with just one arm because that is how he is now.

The character design/art, image planes etc aren't mine they are ©Rumiko Takahashi.

Done quite a lot here, but i'm not too sure how to do his hair and fluff yet....hmm... But next i'm going to do his hand/arm, he only has one arm!
Just a quick rendered image to see how it looks so far.

....right, now to do some more!

This is really good Caron, I think you're making great progress and it's good to see you updating your blog. Hair is usually done with poly planes and alpha mapped textures, unless you know how to use Maya hair, Ornatrix or HairFX?
